ABNS is a not-for-profit, membership organization governed by an
elected group of representatives. We are focused on improving patient
outcomes and consumer protection by promoting specialty nursing
certification. The ABNS mission statement is, “to promote the value of
specialty nursing certification to all stakeholders.”
The Sandra Lee Schafer ABNS
Research Grant will award one applicant funding to be applied toward
furthering research which links specialty nursing certification and
patient outcomes.
ABNS sponsors two awards for the specialty nursing certification community
The ABNS Award for Nursing Certification Advocacy has been developed as a means to publicly recognize organizations/facilities/departments that advocate for or promote specialty nursing certification. We believe that such advocacy ultimately leads to quality patient care.
The Janel Parker President’s Award recognizes an individual or organization within
the ABNS membership that has made significant contributions to specialty
nursing certification and to the association.
Awards Specific to ABNS Members
ABNS also celebrates Member Milestones, honoring member achievements including program and certification anniversaries. View the ABNS News for milestone announcements.
Regarding Verification of Credentials
ABNS
does not verify certification credentials of individual certified
nurses. To verify a credential, contact the certifying agency that
granted the credential. ABNS does not administer certification programs.
