The ABNS Research & Innovation Award recognizes an individual or an organization (e.g.,
credentialing/certification board) that has developed or created an innovative
and transformative product, system, or process leading to enhancement in
practice or approaches in research, credentialing, or accreditation in nursing.
This award acknowledges noteworthy contributions to advancement related to the
value of specialty nursing certification and research.
Eligibility
The Research and Innovation Award recognizes
individual representatives of ABNS member organizations or the organizations
themselves. All nominees must be active members of ABNS as demonstrated by
ongoing involvement in and contribution to ABNS activities. Nominee must be an
individual representative of an ABNS member organization or the organization
itself. Individual members of the Board of Directors are not eligible for the
award, however the organizations they represent are eligible. The ABNS Awards
and Recognition Committee, and their organizations, are not eligible for the
award. Nominees will exemplify the ABNS vision and mission as advocates for
specialty nursing certification. All nominees are pioneers whose work will
continue to affirm ABNS and its value to the health care community. Research or
innovation must relate to the Mission of ABNS: ABNS promotes the value of
specialty nursing certification to all stakeholders.
Criteria
A nominee’s achievements in nursing research and innovation related to specialty nursing certification will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
Active participation in ABNS and/or ABSNC, with demonstrated involvement in activities that advance the visibility, mission, and vision of those organizations
Quality of research/innovation submission
Novelty and innovative nature of the achievement
Impact on specialty nursing certification and/or practice
Regarding Verification of Credentials ABNS does not verify certification credentials of individual certified nurses. To verify a credential, contact the certifying agency that granted the credential. ABNS does not administer certification programs.
